Pietro Mastroeni received a Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Messina, Italy. He moved to the University of Cambridge, UK where he completed his Ph.D. before becoming a Research Fellow at Imperial College, University of London UK. He is currently a Reader in Infection and Immunity at the University of Cambridge, UK. In 2017 he was awarded the Higher Degree of Doctor of Science (ScD) at Cambridge and he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology. He has published more than 120 papers in reputed journals, edited two books and he serves as an editorial board member for several international journals.

Dr. Dirar Abdallah graduated from Jordan University of Science and Technology (J.U.S.T) in Irbid, Jordan and completed Jordanian Board in Internal Medicine from the Jordan Medical Council. At the advent of his career, he worked as intensivist between Jordan and KSA before joining Tawam Hospital in affiliation with Johns Hopkins Medicine in Al Ain in the UAE in 2010. Dr. Dirar was named best ICU doctor by the Critical Care Department in 2012 and won the Customer Service Superstar Award in 2014 during his stint at the hospital in Al Ain. Dr. Dirar is currently connected with Prime Hospital as the ICU Department Chair, Consultant Internal Medicine. He served as the medical director of Prime Hospital and the chair of Internal Medicine Department. Dr. Dirar has published several publications in numerous international journals, presented many CME activities as well as speaking in national and international conferences, and has won several awards.

In 1973 continued her postgraduate study ate Odessa Institute of Virology and Epidemiology (specialty virology). In 1974 she was awarded her candidate degree . He served as a group leader at the State University of Groningen, The Netherlands before joining Stanford, where he has been the full professor for several years. He has served on several professional panels and editorial boards and is the recipient of many awards. He is elected the fellow of American Academy of Microbiology.

Cristian Coman is a senior researcher at the Institute of Biological Research in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. As the leader of the Environmental microbiology laboratory, Cristian’s research interests are in the fields of microbiology and biotechnology, with focus on extreme environments as a source of new antimicrobial compounds and on environmental and human health. Some of his major achievements are the coordination of two Romanian research expeditions to Antarctica and the development of a methodological guide for monitoring environmental pollution with antibiotics and antibiotic resistance, funded through a major international grant. He has published more than 40 scientific papers and serves as a reviewer for various journals.

Ananda M. Chakrabarty, Ph.D., is a Distinguished University Professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago. While working at the Research & Development Center at General Electric Company in Schenectady, New York, he was awarded the ‘Scientist of the Year’ award in 1975 by Industrial Research Organization of the United States. Dr. Chakrabarty has served as a consultant with the United Nations and was the founding member of a UNIDO Committee that proposed the establishment of the International Centre for Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology (ICGEB) based in Trieste, Italy, New Delhi, India, and Cape Town, South Africa. Dr. Chakrabarty has been a member of the Panel of Scientific Advisors, later called Council of Scientific Advisors, of ICGEB since its very inception. Dr. Chakrabarty has also been a member of the International Advisory Board of Chulabhorn Research Institute in Thailand, which is headed by the Princess Chulabhorn of Thailand, and a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. He has received many awards, including the Distinguished Scientist Award from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), MERIT Award from NIH, U.S. Army Distinguished Service Award, Pasteur Award, Inventor of the Year Award, American Chemical Society Public Affairs Award, Procter and Gamble Environmental Biotechnology Award, European Union Eurydice Award given in Brussels in 2007, among others. He served the U.S. Govt. as members of various NIH study sections, member of the Board on Biology of the U. S. National Academy of Science, Committee on Biotechnology of the U.S. National Research Council, The Stockholm Environment Institute of Sweden, and on the Scientific Advisory Boards of many academic institutions such as Michigan Biotechnology Institute, Montana State University Center for Biofilm Research, Center for Microbial Ecology at the Michigan State University, and in Canada as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Canadian Bacterial Diseases Network based in Calgary, Canada. Dr. Chakrabarty also served NATO as a member of NIAG, NATO Industrial Advisory Group based in Brussels, Belgium. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Einstein Institute for Science, Health and the Courts, where he participated in judicial meetings involving contentious scientific issues.

Stef Stienstra is a Strategic and creative consultant in biomedical science, with a parallel career as a Commander of the reserve of the Royal Dutch Navy. For the Dutch Armed Forces he has responsibility for the counter measures in CBNRe threats and (medical) consequence management both in a military and a civilian (terrorism) setting. He is strategic functional specialist for “Health & Environment” of the 1-Civil-Military-Interaction Command (1-CMI) of the Dutch Armed Forces and for 2015 also in the NATO Response Force (NRF), which is in 2015 the responsibility of the 1-German-Netherlands-Corps (1-GNC). He was the director of the 2014 World Congress of CBRNe Science & Consequence Management in Tbilisi, Georgia. rnIn his civil career he works internationally as consultant or as scientific supervisory board member for several medical and biotech companies, merely involved in biodefense. He is also visiting professor for Punjab University in Pakistan and Rhein-Waal University in Germany.He has finished his studies in Medicine and in Biochemistry at the University of Groningen in The Netherlands and has extensive practical experience in cell biology, immuno-haematology, biodefense and transfusion medicine. His natural business acumen and negotiation competence helps to initiate new successful businesses, often created out of unexpected combinations of technologies. His good understanding of abstract science combined with excellent skills in the communication of scientific matters to non-specialists, helps him with strategic consulting at top level management.

Ruhul Kuddus attended University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia; before receiving his doctoral degree in molecular genetics and biochemistry from University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He served as a research scientist at Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, then joined the Biology Department of Utah Valley University (UVU), Orem, Utah, where is currently a professor. As a scientist and educator, he received various awards including the US Fulbright Scholar award, UVU International Center Outstanding Service award, UVU Faculty Scholar of the Year Award, UVU Center for study of Ethics Fellowship, and American Society for Microbiology Scholar in Residence. He has authored over 50 original research articles in biological and social sciences, several editorials/essays in daily newspapers, and two university-level textbooks, and edited three monographs on social sciences. He teaches molecular biology, microbiology, and immunology. His research includes population genetics of cancers, microbial drug resistance, biotechnology transfer, and bioethics of religions. His book of poetry Choto Shahar Faridpur (The Township of Faridpur) was published in 2008. He served as a visiting professor at the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, University of Dhaka, Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2011-2012.
